Summary

Umbra Sigma0 backscatter is derived from scaling factors provided within the Umbra Geo-Ellipsoid Corrected geotiff. The GEC product has been projected to a surface with a constant height above the WGS-84 ellipsoid, with the projection height determined by the elevation at scene center. Sigma0 corresponds to the return strength of the radar signal from the surface. The units for this product are decibels (dB). Debris may manifest in images via nonuniform shapes or with significant backscatter.
