Service Description:

The visible-wavelength true color RGB digital camera images were taken by astronauts aboard the International Space Station showing areas affected by tornadoes in the US such as the cities of Nashville, TN, Murfreesboro, TN, Huntsville, AL, and Bowling Green, KY. These images were manually georeferenced by members of the Earth Science and Remote Sensing Unit at NASA Johnson Space Center.

This image provides regional context, and may be useful for visualization of the ongoing event. Higher spatial resolution images may be suitable for spatial analysis to support decision making or research applications.
